Alijandra welcomes to the show, Susan P. Plummer, PhD. In Susan Plummer's own words, “What if you lived in a world where, when you began to feel lost and empty, your life flooded with a sense of meaninglessness, there were wise elders keeping their eyes out for you, and they celebrated the appearance of these experiences in you, because it meant that you were being called into new growth, into a new way of being, a coming of age, so to speak…” In her book, Deep Change, Susan Plummer is that wise elder. She gently and intelligently guides the reader through the seven shifts involved in deep change, beginning with the sense of hopelessness and meaninglessness that is common to so many in our modern world. Most of all, she teaches us how to be still, to listen, to be patient, and to trust ourselves as we discover a path out of the tundra rather than rushing for a drink, a psychiatrist, or the medicine cabinet.. Susan P. Plummer, Ph.D., has been a psychotherapist in private practice in Northern California for the past 25 years. She lives in Santa Barbara, where she directs the Alliance for Living and Dying Well, a hospice agency. Susan is available for presentations, lectures, and workshops and can be reached through Blessingway Authors' Services at blessingwy@aol.com or through spplummer@gmail.com.
