Holmes was awarded the Patricia Roberts-Harris MA/PhD Fellowship from the US Department of Education. Additionally, she earned an MA and PhD in Sociology at Boston College in Massachusetts in 2005. Her research and scholarship specializations are the following: education policy and practice, faith life practice transformation, correlation between identity, encounter and relationship.
